BACKGROUND : Homebase was looking for a new way of communicating their new products and collections to loyal customers at home and in-store. At the time Homebase was going through a small re-brand and was looking to reposition themselves as "premium products at affordable prices".
THE IDEA : A mini-mag was proposed for this brief and so INSPIRE was born.
I worked with a talented editor as a team, designing and art directing the look and feel of this new project. Constraints were found when trying to fuse the new branding with magazine design as their new branding was not designed for editorial purposes. We pushed the brand as far as we could and found a creative balance of imagery and typography. After the launch of issues #1 and #2, INSPIRE was taken in-house accompanied by an in-depth style guide.
